The Petition against the inhuman working conditions at Mattel .
The multinational toy manufacture “ Mattel” must bring to an end all violations of the rights of it’s employees in China . Mattel owes 6 to 8 M Euros to their working staff , who actually produce the goods . Such is the situation as revealed by our partner association “China Labor
Watch “ , which has calculated the amount represented by the number of working hours plus the unpaid company charges over one complete year by the American multinational. Up to 13 hours of work a day ,7 days a week , overcrowded dormitories , toxic materials being handled without any clothing protection ….
Our patner association has managed to secretly investigate six Chinese factories and has published a new shocking report on the world’s N° 1 toy manufacture .
For several years China Labor Watch and Peuples Solidaires have both been pointing the finger at this contempt of the company for their Chinese workers . In the run-up of Christmas , it is now or never the moment to demand that Mattel should finally improve their practises .

Letter to M.Stockton, CEO of Mattel .
Dear Sir ,
I am shocked by the working and living conditions of the staff who make your products in China .I therefore ask you :
-firstly to take both immediate and long-term measures to rectify and prevent all violations of working rights , and to keep the China Labor Watch informed about this .
-Secondly , to make sure that the prices and deadlines that you give to your suppliers ,are in line with both a correct living wage and the legal number of hours worked .
-Thirdly, for a complete list of your suppliers.
-And finally that an efficient complaint procedure be set up in each of your factories , and that the workers be informed of their rights .
Yours sincerely .
